THE IDEAL RACING LINE

The racing line is the optimal path through a corner that allows you to carry the most speed. It’s often described as a **wide entry, late apex, and wide exit** (E-A-X).

**Entry:** Approach the corner from the outside edge of the track.

**Apex:** This is the innermost point of the corner. For most corners, you want a “late apex” – hitting the inside point later in the turn. This allows you to straighten the car earlier as you accelerate out.

**Exit:** Let the car naturally drift back to the outside of the track as you accelerate out, using all available road.

Ideal line (red) turns in later and sharper, allowing later braking, less turning, and earlier acceleration for a faster exit.
The ideal line (red) differs most in the hairpin—prioritizing exit speed—while in the fast kink, both lines are similar to maintain momentum

PRECISION BRAKING : WHERE AND HOW

Braking isn’t just about slowing down; it’s about setting up your car for the next corner. Effective braking is crucial for maintaining control and speed.

**Brake in a Straight Line:** Do most of your heavy braking before you start turning into the corner. This keeps the car stable and prevents loss of grip.

**Trail Braking:** As you begin to turn, gradually release the brake pedal. This helps pivot the car into the turn, maintain grip, and keeps the front tires loaded.

**Look Ahead:** Always look through the corner to your desired apex and exit point while braking. This helps you anticipate and adjust your speed.

**Smooth Application:** Avoid sudden, jerky brake inputs. Smooth pressure helps prevent lock-ups and maintains the car’s balance.

Braking zone → Turn-in point → Apex → Corner exit

CONTROLLED ACCELERATION : POWERING OUT

Getting back on the throttle effectively is how you carry speed onto the next straight. It’s not just about flooring it; it’s about smooth, progressive power application.

**Unwinding the Wheel:** As you exit a corner and unwind the steering wheel (straighten it), you can progressively apply more throttle.

**Listen to the Car (and Feel):** In our simulators, you’ll get realistic feedback about the car’s grip limits. Apply power gradually until you feel maximum traction.

**Avoid Wheelspin:** Too much throttle too early will cause the wheels to spin, which wastes time and compromises control. Our simulators help you learn this balance safely
